The Magical Solution to Getting Rid of Winter Skin

Have dry, flaky winter skin that won’t go away? Don’t worry, I have a product that will make your skin go back to it’s soft, supple self in no time!

Okay, I don’t know about you guys but I live in California. California winters are a joke compared to the East Coast and various other parts of the world where the temperature goes below zero and people wear parkas and beanies because they have to instead of making a fashion statement or trying to look cute. When the cold weather suddenly hit good old San Francisco, I wasn’t really prepared skin-wise. (Coat-wise, you know I got this guys!) I had gone to Cabo two years ago for my sister’s Dirty 30 and got severely burned because I wanted to get super tan (cool story, Amber), and ended up permanently damaging my usually obedient skin. Now, on the left side of my forehead (around where my temples are), I have an area that no matter what I do and how much I moisturize, my skin starts flaking and it’s disgusting. I’ve tried Kiehl’s, face masks, facial serums, the whole 9. My brother recently went to Korea to visit his girlfriend and he brought back some face emulsion products (basically, lotion) from a skincare line called Skin Food (don’t worry, they sell it here in the US. I wouldn’t promote a product you guys can’t get a hold of). I tried their Black Pomegranate face emulsion and I kid you not, it’s changed my life. I always wondered what real Korean facial products could really do for your skin and here it is. I AM A BELIEVER! I apply about a dime-sized amount (depending on how oily or dry your skin is) in the morning before I put on my makeup and before I go to bed. In the morning, my face feels soft and supple, like I drank 20 glasses of water the night before and doused my face in mashed avocados and coconut oil- it’s GREAT. People have commented on my skin- telling me I’m glowing and how I manage to keep my skin so hydrated in such cold, dry weather. Well, here’s the answer folks. Try it out and let me know what you think.

Jennifer Lawrence has been going around the world promoting her latest movie- Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 with fellow actors Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutchinson. Lawrence is one of my favorite actresses  along with the rest of the people in this world- not only because she is understated, unconventionally beautiful, smart, and witty… She’s also got a great sense of humor and laughs. She doesn’t take life too seriously as one of the biggest stars in the world right now and let’s be honest- it’s quite refreshing. And to top it all off- I absolutely love her style. She’s worn a string of interesting yet beautiful choices for her premieres in different countries (including an amazing sheer Schiaparelli dress that is a close second), but I have to say the Christian Dior dress she wore to the Los Angeles premiere is my absolute favorite. Are you ready?

I know. She looks amazing. As soon as I saw the picture of her with the scalloped detailing, sheer neckline, and columned silhouette, I was in love. Not only is the dress absolutely regal on her- her light, messy blonde waves with a modest part, neutral brown-lined eyes, and a great statement red lip complete the entire look and let’s just say it- she looks STUNNING. Lawrence is a brand ambassador for Dior and she keeps proving to us over and over that they made the absolutely right choice.  So… Should we even get started on her body? Okay, let’s not because the girl looks like she can do all the stunts in the movie by herself. Jennifer Lawrence has officially become in the top 5 on my woman crush list. FLICK OF THE WEEK, indeed.

Hi there! I’m Amber K. Tsai. I am born and raised in Walnut Creek, California and couldn’t be more proud! I created a blog because there are so many things in this world that I want to discuss and put out into the world. My appreciation for fashion, art, design (in all aspects and industries), culture, and literature have led me to believe that I should share my passion for what stimulates me and opens my eyes with the rest of the world. I’m currently a student at Academy of Art University in San Francisco as a fashion merchandising major with a focus in marketing, therefore, my posts will predominantly be about fashion and everything that surrounds it- but this blog is meant to and will touch on much more than that. As a senior in my last semester of college, I am both scared and excited to embark on my professional career in the fashion industry. I hope what I share with the rest of you will only open your mind more and inspire you in any way possible. My passion for this industry is rooted in the belief that I can inspire others by difference in perception- we, as individuals, have every right to look at things the way we want to. However, the most exciting part of this industry (for me) is how we perceive the most personal and judgmental aspect of self-expression- how we connect what is going on around us in this world with how people view themselves and even more so, how they and we want to be viewed. With so much freedom to think as individuals, I believe we should all be open to how others think and feel and hopefully as a result, we will learn and be inspired by each other.
